Just a quick update... ¡Ya estamos aquí en Ticolandia! It was a 4 hour flight from Charlotte to San Jose and our sweet friend Aaron took the day off of work to pick us up from the airport. ¡Qué buen amigo! We got here at about 3:00 and had a great reunion with my wonderful host family! It's been 3 years since I've last seen them and we've missed each other and had a lot to catch up on! We had lunch with them and then Rachel and I went to the grocery store (Más x Menos) to pick up some food items and then stopped by a bakery in our neighborhood for some some delicious dulce de leche! It's 2 hours earlier than it is in NC and we're pretty exhausted so that's it for today! The days to come (and future posts) will be more interesting ;)
Our backpacks weigh about 26 pounds - pretty heavy for a backpack! We decided not to take suitcases so that it will be easier to travel on the bus when we go to different countries. Anyone who knows me knows that it was a struggle not to overpack... with only 3 pairs of shoes and 7 outfits on a 6 week journey, I've come a long way ;)
Me and my friend Rachel getting ready to leave from RDU.
Trying to figure out how to ring the doorbell since none of us could reach it through the bars... Luckily Aaron had a back scratcher in his car that he could use... pretty random but it worked!
A picture of me with my host family 3 years ago when I was an exchange student. From left to right: Pepe (my host dad), Joaquin (my host brother), Marta (my host mom), me (la gringa!), and Toti (my host sister). Los amo mucho!
